Bubble Review 2026: Is It Right for No-Code & Automation?

Bubble is fundamentally different from other no-code tools in this category. While Zapier and Make automate workflows between existing apps, and Airtable provides structured data management, Bubble lets you build entirely new applications from scratch. The visual programming environment covers everything a traditional developer would handle: page layouts, database schema, user authentication, business logic, API integrations, and deployment — all without writing a single line of code.

The database builder is surprisingly capable. You define data types (Users, Products, Orders) and their fields visually, set up relationships between types, configure privacy rules that control who can read and write data, and build search queries with filtering, sorting, and pagination. For applications with straightforward data models, Bubble's database handles the workload without performance issues.

Workflows are where Bubble's visual programming shines. When a user clicks a button, submits a form, or triggers an event, you define a sequence of actions: create a database record, send an email, call an API, update the page state, or navigate to another page. Conditional logic lets workflows branch based on data values, user roles, or application state. This workflow system can express genuinely complex business logic — subscription billing flows, multi-step approval processes, and marketplace matching algorithms.

The plugin ecosystem extends Bubble's capabilities beyond its built-in features. Stripe integration handles payments. Google Maps adds location features. Chart plugins create data visualizations. File upload plugins manage media. While not every third-party API has a plugin, the API Connector lets you integrate with any REST API manually.
